Separation of organic compounds with similar properties such as fatty acids, amino acids (e.g., leucine / isoleucine), ammonium salts (e.g., tetrabutylammonium bromide / triethylbenzylammonium bromide), etc.
Concentration of substances from dilute aqueous or aqueous saline solutions (e.g., effluent streams after ion exchange, membrane processes, or chromatography).
